What has gone out to tender
Torrevieja has begun procuring the services that will oversee construction of its future day centre for people with Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative conditions. According to the council, professional construction supervision, quality control and health and safety coordination are being tendered for €458,638.
The planned project
The construction budget is €10,856,623 including VAT. The proposed location is Sector 25 in the municipal plan, opposite Hospital Quirón. The council describes around 2,700 square metres of floor space on a plot of almost 8,000 square metres. The documentation allows twenty months for construction.
This is not yet an opening
The development reported during the week of 12–18 October is the tender for technical services. It does not mean construction has started, that a building contract has been awarded or that an opening date exists. The council statement allows thirty calendar days for bids from the dispatch of the notice to the Official Journal of the European Union; this should not be confused with applications for places at the centre.
