A man has been ordered to pay €8,205 in compensation to two Guardia Civil officers for injuries they sustained during an intervention at a home in Torrevieja.
The judgment is final and also imposes fines totalling €3,426, equivalent to 19 months of daily fines.
The incident took place at around 00:50 on 16 October 2025, when the officers attended a property after receiving a call about a serious domestic disturbance.
A blow and a struggle during the intervention
As he left the property, the man confronted the officers, struck one in the face and resisted them in a struggle that continued on the ground.
A supporting patrol was needed to restrain and handcuff him.
One officer suffered a sprain and swelling in his left ankle, with a recovery period of 21 days.
The second sustained bone marrow oedema in his knee, bruising to his upper left eyelid and lasting post-traumatic knee pain; he required medication, ten rehabilitation sessions and 112 days to recover.
Resisting officers and two injury offences
The man admitted his guilt and was convicted of resisting officers with the aggravating factor of reoffending, a minor injury offence and a less serious injury offence under Spanish law.
The compensation comprises €1,600 for the first officer and €6,605 for the second, plus the applicable statutory interest.
The Alicante branch of the Asociación Unificada de Guardias Civiles brought a private prosecution through its legal services.
