Asociación Donaciones Torrevieja y Alrededores celebrated its sixth anniversary on Sunday 25 October with a gathering bringing together members, volunteers, families, supporters and institutional representatives.
Music, children’s activities and time spent together accompanied an event recognising the people who sustain the association’s social work with the most vulnerable families in Torrevieja and the surrounding area.
Volunteers at the heart of the celebration
The association’s president, Blanca Delrieu, led the central part of the event with a speech dedicated to the daily, unpaid efforts of its volunteer team.
“You are the heart of this association. Without your tireless work, nothing we do would be possible,” she told those attending the anniversary gathering during her address.
The tribute focused on the everyday contribution made by people working with the organisation, within a celebration intended to bring its wider community together in one shared event.
The association extended its thanks to members, friends, families, visitors and supporters who joined a day of reunions, dancing and activities designed for different age groups.
Children’s entertainment and music from FMC
Younger participants enjoyed games, face painting and other activities provided by Bambini Animaciones, which was responsible for keeping children entertained during the association’s anniversary celebrations.
The group FMC, connected with the association’s family and a regular supporter of its initiatives, performed the concert that provided the musical element of the gathering.
Those attending included NGOs and volunteering councillor Trudi Páez, sports councillor Diana Box, third deputy mayor Sandra Sánchez and PSOE representative Margarita De Francisco.
The Apaex association also attended, with Donaciones Torrevieja y Alrededores thanking the organisation for joining other groups in supporting the anniversary and sharing the occasion.
The celebration received sponsorship and support from Cárnicas Ríos, Torrevieja City Council, Agamed and CaixaBank, whose contributions were acknowledged by the organisers during their thanks.
As it marked six years, the association reaffirmed its commitment to continuing its work for the most vulnerable families in the town and nearby areas, keeping that support at the centre of its activity.
The association stressed that the backing of these sponsors and supporters is also fundamental to the development of its social work.
