San Javier is joining TítereMurcia for the first time with ‘Sòmion. La ciudad de los oficios imposibles’, a family show to be performed at the Teatro de Invierno on 6 November at 19:00.

Tickets cost €5 and the performance is part of the 25th International Puppet Theatre Festival of the Region of Murcia, which will take place from 6 to 16 November.

A city of imaginary occupations

The company El que ma queda de teatre combines puppetry and live music to take audiences to a city where jobs are far removed from the occupations they would usually recognise.

Its characters include the man who puts the streets in place and the teacher of birdsong, two examples of the imaginary world through which the production takes its audience.

The show invites families to explore imagination and the effort involved in making dreams come true, telling a story aimed at a family audience and supported throughout by the combination of puppets and music.

The production has received the Fetén 2026 award and the Titirijal Tolosa 2025 award, distinctions accompanying its arrival in San Javier’s autumn cultural programme.

Tickets and the festival anniversary

Tickets are available through Sacatuentrada and the festival website, which also sells seats for the other shows included in this year’s edition of the event.

TítereMurcia’s programme brings together 50 performances, three documentaries, three workshops, two exhibitions and a participatory project, within a total of 70 activities spread across different spaces and venues.

Companies from Canada, Italy and Colombia are taking part alongside Spanish companies and four from the region, in a programme devoted to showcasing Spanish and international puppet productions.

San Javier’s councillor for Culture, David Martínez, has welcomed the addition of the festival to the municipality’s autumn cultural offering and invited families and the wider public to enjoy the production.
