Thalia Torrevieja Teatro has announced a performance of ¿Viene usted por el anuncio? on Saturday 21 November at 20:00 at Torrevieja’s Virgen del Carmen Cultural Centre.

Admission will be free, subject to capacity, for this comedy of misunderstandings by French playwright Marc Camoletti, which will be staged under the direction of Gustavo Mínguez Vallejos.

An advertisement sets the confusion in motion

The play begins with a newspaper advertisement that triggers a succession of misunderstandings among the characters drawn into the story.

Four women set in motion a situation that becomes increasingly complicated through unexpected encounters and awkward conversations, in a plot built around appearances and mistaken interpretations.

Secrets and words that are not understood as intended fuel the chain of confusion, while attempts to clear things up lead to further comic situations.

The phrase ‘You have to be very careful who you speak to and what you talk about’ sums up the tone of a production that turns an apparently simple circumstance into the starting point for theatrical complications.

Eight performers, with the director also in the cast

The cast includes Noelia Lara as Berta, Silvana Perren as Lili, Carolina Proshchalykina as Irene and Leticia Fernández in the role of Sofía.

Antonio Pérez will play Óscar, while Gustavo Mínguez Vallejos will portray Bernardo as well as directing this production by the Torrevieja company.

Completing the cast are Jose Vicente Torregrosa, who will take the role of Juan, and Rubén Pérez Vega, who will play Espartaco.

The production presents a comedy in which pace, quick-moving dialogue and the performers’ characterisations sustain the misunderstandings that follow the advertisement.

The initiative has the collaboration of the Generalitat Valenciana, the Institut Valencià de Cultura, the council’s Culture department, the Instituto Municipal de Cultura Joaquín Chapaprieta and the Federació de Teatre Amateur de la Comunitat Valenciana, alongside the company itself.
