The Benidorm Half has passed 10,000 entries for its next edition on Saturday 21 November 2026, according to the organisers’ figures reported by ViveBenidorm.
Race director Fernando Brotons puts the ceiling at 12,500 participants: this is a projection and a proposed limit intended to protect runners’ experience, rather than the number of entries already received.
Organised by Tour-Sport Promociones Deportivas, the event will again offer two distances, a half marathon and a 10K, with afternoon starts and a finish beside Benidorm Town Hall.
Two starts on 21 November
The 10-kilometre race will begin at 5pm and the half marathon at 6pm, both starting on Avenida de la Comunidad Valenciana at the junction with Calle Bélgica.
Both races will finish in Plaza de Sus Majestades los Reyes de España and retain the previous edition’s route through the historic centre, along the seafront and through other streets in the city.
The courses are certified by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation: 21,097 metres for the half marathon and 10,000 metres for the shorter race.
Each distance will have five starting pens based on predicted finishing times; the deadline for requesting a pen change is 2 November, under the regulations cited by the publication.
Growth and international participation
The event’s growth starts from around 1,600 participants in 2018, when Tour-Sport took over its management, rising to 6,500 in 2024 and 9,132 entries in 2025.
Last year’s edition included 4,616 overseas entrants, of whom 4,043 came from the United Kingdom; this year, the organisers expect to attract more than 5,000 British runners.
Race arrangements include refreshment stations at kilometres 5, 10 and 15 in the half marathon and at kilometre 5 in the 10K, as well as refreshments at the finish for both distances.
The runners’ fair will take place on the Friday and Saturday before the race; participants will collect their race numbers by presenting the QR code received when they registered for the event.
