San Pedro del Pinatar will offer 135 free places at its Escuela de Navidad 2026, a Christmas holiday childcare service designed to help local families balance work and family commitments during the school holidays.

The council’s Equality Department will open applications at 08:00 on 5 November, with the application period ending at 14:00 on 16 November.

Eight days at Las Esperanzas school

The service will run at CEIP Las Esperanzas on 23, 24, 28, 29, 30 and 31 December 2026, as well as on 4 and 5 January 2027.

Standard hours will be 09:00 to 14:00, with two extensions intended to provide additional cover around families’ working hours.

The early morning session, Aula Matinal, will start at 07:30, while the later session, Aula Vespertina, will allow children to stay until 14:30.

Eligibility and how to apply

The Christmas holiday school is intended for children attending the second cycle of Spanish infant education, Educación Infantil, or primary education, Educación Primaria.

To access the service, parents or guardians must be working or taking part in training programmes aimed at employment.

The admission rules also take account of specific circumstances affecting families with dependent people in their care, and give priority to vulnerable groups.

Interested families must submit a single application, completed and signed, either in person or electronically.

In-person applications will be handled by the town hall’s Registry by prior appointment; online applications can be submitted through the municipal electronic office using the procedure labelled «Actividades».

The full rules, admission procedure and list of required supporting documents are available on the municipal noticeboard.

Information for families

The Equality Department will answer enquiries on 968 18 03 88, extension 3107, and 607 14 72 86.

Information can also be requested in person on the first floor of the municipal Social Services, Women and Equality building named «Concejal Agustina Santiago».

The service is fully funded by Spain’s Ministry of Equality in collaboration with the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, under the Plan Corresponsables programme.
