All nine CD Chatarras Torrevieja representatives completed the 20th Integral de la Cabra without incident, taking part in the mountain-bike event held in Sangonera la Verde, Murcia, on Sunday 25 October.

Every member of the Torrevieja group crossed the finish line on their respective route and received the finisher medal awarded for completing their chosen course at the event.

The start was at 8am on a day that offered participants two different combinations of distance and climbing as part of this twentieth edition of the mountain-bike challenge.

Three riders on the long route and six on the short

Three members of the club tackled the longer option, following a 77-kilometre course with approximately 2,600 metres of positive elevation gain over the length of the ride.

The other six representatives entered the shorter distance, which also involved a mountain course, covering 43 kilometres with around 1,400 metres of positive elevation gain along the route.

The club’s contingent was therefore spread across both formats provided by the organisers, with all its entrants reaching the finish in each of the two distances on offer.

The account released after the event describes courses that were tougher than in previous editions, combining distance, climbing and the difficulties of the terrain as the main demands on riders.

Thanks for riders, organisers and volunteers

The club congratulated its fellow members on their efforts and highlighted the group’s perseverance and sense of companionship during this latest event in its mountain-biking activities away from Torrevieja.

It also thanked Rutas MTB Murcia Montañas A.C., the organisation behind Integral de la Cabra, together with the volunteers who devoted their time to this edition of the event.

That acknowledgement included the attention and support received throughout the day, as well as the organisational work involved in delivering this edition of the mountain-bike ride in Murcia.

Having completed their respective courses, the cyclists now move into a few days of rest and recovery before beginning preparations for their next outings and challenges on two wheels.
