Mare Nostrum Torrevieja lost 25–27 to CBM Elche on Saturday 31 October in the seventh round of Group E of the men’s Primera Nacional handball competition.

The Royal Spanish Handball Federation’s results list the Torrevieja side as the home team and identify the Palacio de los Deportes de Torrevieja ‘Tavi y Carmona’ as the venue for the match.

The defeat ends Mare Nostrum’s run of two consecutive victories, following wins over Fibritel Balonmano Villafranca and Balonmano Elda CEE in the previous two rounds of the competition.

Four wins and three defeats

After their opening seven matches, the Torrevieja team have a record of four victories and three defeats, with no draws during this first part of the league campaign.

The season began with a 27–29 away victory against UCAM Balonmano Murcia, followed by a 23–24 defeat against Mislata at the Cecilio Gallego municipal sports hall.

Mare Nostrum then beat Algemesí 21–27 before losing 23–32 to Jeovent BM Leganés, with that defeat also coming at the municipal sports hall in Torrevieja.

Before hosting Elche, they won 24–26 in Villafranca de los Caballeros and then beat Elda 33–32, the latter match taking place on 24 October at Cecilio Gallego.

Elche, meanwhile, had lost their previous fixture 33–26 to Fertiberia Puerto Sagunto B on 25 October before securing this victory in Torrevieja.

Marni are next on the fixture list

Mare Nostrum’s next match is scheduled for Saturday 7 November at 18:30 against BM Marni Rosval at the Cecilio Gallego municipal sports hall, as part of the eighth round.

The federation’s calendar then lists an away match against Club Handbol Mallorca on Sunday 15 November at 12:30 at La Salle Pont Inca.

For the tenth round, another home fixture is listed against Club Balonmano Petrer on Saturday 21 November at 18:30, again at Cecilio Gallego in Torrevieja.
