SC Torrevieja CF lost 4-1 away to Atlético Levante UD in Buñol in their match on Saturday 17 October.
The Torrevieja side reduced the deficit early in the second half after going into the break two goals down, but the hosts went on to extend their advantage.
Levante UD’s match report highlights Javi Alonso, who scored the first two goals, alongside De Asís and Luismi Pérez, who completed the scoring.
Two goals before the break
The reserve side coached by Álvaro del Moral created their first chances through an Aitor M. cross that led to a Calatrava effort off target, and a Nakoha pass to Luismi Pérez, whose shot also missed.
The opening goal came from another Aitor M. run down the left and a cross to the far post, where Javi Alonso finished.
The same forward scored the second following a penalty awarded for a foul on Luismi Pérez: the goalkeeper stopped the initial effort but could not hold the ball, which ended up crossing the line.
Before half-time, Torrevieja had a chance to reduce the gap after a visiting player got past goalkeeper A. Herrera outside his goal.
Nakoha prevented a goal with a headed clearance as the shot was heading towards the almost empty net.
Visitors’ response could not prevent defeat
The Alicante side did find the net after the restart, turning the 2-0 scoreline into 2-1 and cutting the reserve team’s advantage to a single goal.
The hosts brought on Álvaro and Dani Cervera, with the latter having a chance in the 57th minute when his effort went wide.
De Asís scored to make it 3-1 in the 66th minute, having previously had another attempt saved by the visiting goalkeeper.
The final goal came from a penalty after the goalkeeper brought down Luismi Pérez inside the area and was sent off, having already received a yellow card.
Luismi converted the spot-kick to complete the 4-1 scoreline and secure another home win for Atlético Levante.
