Club Gimnasia Rítmica de Torrevieja recorded three first places at preparation tournaments in Aspe and Elche over the weekend of 17 and 18 October. The infant group won at Club Kayma’s event on Saturday, before Mía and Sienna finished first in their individual categories at the tournament organised by Club Algar on Sunday.
The results reported by the club also include a podium place for Mía in Aspe and top-three finishes for the cadet group on both days. The programme brought together Copa Base individual gymnasts and the club’s three Base-level groups, competing in the alevín, infant and cadet categories.
Aspe: first for the infant group
Saturday’s competition began with the individual events in the morning. Sienna finished fourth in the infant category, while Mía placed third in alevín. The groups then competed in the afternoon, with the infant team taking first place, the cadets finishing second and the alevín group coming fourth.
Those placings relate to separate events within the Aspe tournament. The group victory went to the infant team, while Mía secured the individual podium finish. These were results at a preparation tournament, rather than titles from an official championship.
Mía and Sienna win in Elche
At Club Algar’s tournament in Elche on Sunday, Mía won the alevín individual category and Sienna finished first in the infant event. Both therefore improved on their respective placings from the previous day.
In the group competition, the alevín team again finished fourth. The infant group placed fifth, while the cadets came third, adding another podium finish to Saturday’s second place. The two venues produced different results, with individual and group classifications recorded separately.
Building towards official competitions
The club describes the weekend’s tournaments as part of its preparations for upcoming official competitions. In its assessment, it highlighted the gymnasts’ effort, consistency and commitment, as well as the opportunity to learn and build confidence through competitive performances.
Across the two days, both the Copa Base individuals and the Base-level groups were able to perform their routines in competition. The outings form part of their continuing work ahead of the next sporting commitments, rather than the conclusion of an official championship campaign.
