Torrevieja faces a yellow rain warning on Tuesday 3 November for Alicante’s southern coast, with up to 30 litres per square metre, or 30 mm, forecast in an hour.

Spain’s State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) gives the warning’s start time as 00:00 and its end time as 23:59 on Tuesday.

Thunderstorms are possible

Showers may be accompanied by thunderstorms, and the stated probability of the weather event is between 40% and 70%.

The warning applies to Alicante’s southern coastal weather zone and does not mean that this intensity will be reached in every municipality or that rain will fall continuously throughout the day.

The warning window covers the entire day, so attention to changing weather conditions is not confined to the afternoon.

This is a forecast of a weather risk: the 30 mm in an hour is the value indicated for the episode, not an amount of rain already recorded in Torrevieja.
