Los Montesinos will host its first RECine Event this Saturday, 24 October, bringing together short films, live music and local food from 19:00 in the School of Music and Culture auditorium.
Production company Recine is organising the event under the direction of actor and director Javier Nieto, with support from the council.
The programme combines a red carpet, musical performances inspired by cinema and screenings of works connected with the festival circuit.
A cocktail reception featuring local food, accompanied by music and a DJ, completes an experience intended to bring creators, industry professionals and audiences together beyond the screen.
Teresa Del Olmo as a guest; Larrodera on screen
Confirmed titles include «El último baile», directed by Madrid filmmaker Carlos Mures, whose career includes appearances at the Málaga, Alicante and Elche film festivals.
Mures has also worked with performers including Fernando Tejero and Javier Gutiérrez.
Another screening will be «Frío en las manos», directed by Sergio Checa and starring Teresa Del Olmo, who will take part as a guest artist.
The actress was a cast member in the television series «Aquí no hay quien viva» and currently plays Bernarda in the stage production «La casa de Bernarda Alba».
Luis Larrodera will not attend in person: audiences will be able to see his work as the lead in one of the scheduled short films.
The organisers are also working to involve other directors, although those possible contributions have not yet been confirmed.
Tickets available in the afternoons
Tickets and information about the evening will be available in person during the afternoons at the School of Music and Culture.
The initiative aims to establish a meeting place for the audiovisual sector and local residents, raising the profile of short films and different forms of filmmaking.
Culture councillor Rosa Belén Morán presents RECine as a different addition to the municipal programme and an opportunity to promote new artistic projects.
Mayor José Manuel Butrón, meanwhile, highlights culture’s role in bringing life to the town, creating opportunities to meet and showcasing creative talent.
