Rojales has definitively approved a budget supplement of €561,174.04 to increase funding for three spending lines: wastewater collection and treatment maintenance, ornamental festive lighting, and buildings and other structures.
The decision appears in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante dated 27 October and concerns budget amendment 29/2026, which forms part of the council’s current budget.
The initial decision was taken at the council meeting on 24 September and automatically became definitive after no objections were submitted during public consultation, according to the municipal secretary’s certificate dated 23 October.
More than €351,000 for wastewater services
The largest increase, €351,261.44, goes to the maintenance and operation of wastewater collection and treatment services, bringing the total allocation for that spending line to €722,906.99.
The ornamental festive lighting contract receives a further €134,912.60, meaning that the funding allocated to this item rises from €100,934.17 to a new total of €235,846.77.
The third contribution adds €75,000 to buildings and other structures, a spending line that had already received earlier amendments and will now have an allocation of €677,232.21.
Following this supplement, the three spending lines together account for €1,635,985.97; that figure relates to the affected items rather than to the council’s budget as a whole.
Additional revenue and treasury reserves
The financing combines €404,849.01 in additional revenue collected with another €156,325.03 drawn from the treasury surplus carried over from the previous financial year.
Within the additional revenue, €351,261.44 corresponds to EPSAR 2026 and €53,587.57 to the settlement of state tax revenue for the 2024 financial year.
The increase for wastewater services therefore matches the amount of additional revenue recorded under EPSAR, while the decision separately identifies the use of treasury reserves to complete the financing of the amendment.
The notice also explains that an administrative court appeal may be lodged directly against the decision, in accordance with legislation governing local government finances and the administrative courts.
Lodging such an appeal does not in itself suspend the decision’s effect, as stated in the official notice recording the definitive approval of this budget supplement.
