Zenia Boulevard in Orihuela Costa will celebrate Halloween with free activities between Saturday 24 and Saturday 31 October: a family show, a children’s workshop, the Hotel Inferno tunnel of terror and a costume contest.

The programme offers activities for different ages, although access to the workshop and tunnel is linked to membership of the Zenia Kids Club, which is free to join.

Storytelling and Halloween bags

The first event is on Saturday 24 October at 18:00 with Juan Sin Miedo, or John the Fearless, a family storytelling show combining actors, puppets and audience participation.

The story follows Juan on a journey around the world to discover what fear is, with adventures and surprises aimed at children.

On Sunday 25 October, from 17:00 to 20:00, children can decorate a fabric bag using adhesive decals and special fabric markers.

Ghosts, pumpkins and other Halloween characters will provide inspiration for creations that each participant can take home; places at the workshop are reserved for Zenia Kids Club members.

Hotel Inferno opens for two afternoons

The Hotel Inferno tunnel of terror returns on Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October, opening from 17:00 to 21:00 on both days.

The setting will recreate an unsettling hotel, with strange guests and surprises in its corridors and rooms; the activity is recommended for ages eight and over.

Children younger than eight must remain accompanied by a parent or legal guardian throughout the experience.

Entry requires Zenia Kids Club membership, and visitors who are not yet members can sign up free of charge on site before going in.

Three costume prizes

On Saturday 31 October at 19:00, the Plaza Mayor will host the costume contest, with three €25 gift cards to be awarded.

One card will go to the spookiest costume, another to the most original and another to the best handmade outfit, a category recognising the work and detail involved in making a costume by hand.

All participants will also receive some sweets, as part of a programme in which none of the activities carries an admission charge.
