Torrevieja’s Municipal Theatre has four events lined up from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 October: a magic gala, the 20th Flamenco Gathering, the Unión Musical Torrevejense autumn concert and the opening ceremony for the World Angling Championships.

The programme combines evening performances with a Sunday lunchtime band concert and a parade through the town centre before the formal welcome to the senior and junior championships.

Magic on Friday, flamenco on Saturday

Las Ilusionistas: Gala Internacional de Damas Mágicas is scheduled for this Friday, 23 October, at 7pm, bringing Dania Díaz, Jessica Guloomal and Patri Zenner together on the same stage.

The show combines Venezuelan performer Dania Díaz’s emotionally driven magic, Canarian magician Jessica Guloomal’s experience of more than twenty years and Patri Zenner’s blend of medieval fantasy and mentalism.

On Saturday 24 October at 8pm, the theatre will host the 20th edition of the Flamenco Gathering, «Viva el Flamenco», featuring the Ballet Flamenco de Lo Ferro.

The company will explore different flamenco styles with its ensemble of dancers at a gathering that is celebrating its twentieth edition.

Historias del Oeste and a welcome to the championships

The Unión Musical Torrevejense will perform Historias del Oeste on Sunday 25 October at noon, conducted by Carlos Ramón Pérez, as its traditional autumn concert.

Inspired by the world of the Western, the programme offers a musical journey through the landscapes, characters and stories of the Wild West.

That Sunday, the World Angling Championships opening parade will leave Plaza del Ayuntamiento at 5pm, following Ramón Gallud, Azorín, Paseo Vista Alegre and Clemente Gosálvez to the theatre.

The procession will include Los Salerosos, members of the Comparsa Daimana carnival group and volunteers from Club Náutico Marina Internacional.

The official ceremony starts at 5.30pm, with institutional speeches and a performance by Sette Vocci to welcome the 61st senior and 25th junior world championships in boat angling from anchored vessels.

Tickets for the shows are available through Cultura Torrevieja and at the Municipal Theatre box office.
