Ryanair has announced a 79-route winter programme at Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández airport, adding four connections to its winter offering and providing more than 3.3 million seats through to late March 2027.
The airline presented the programme on Wednesday 21 October and says the season begins in late October, with stronger connections to Italy and Germany among its main features.
Two Italian and two German destinations
Catania will have five flights a week, Venice Marco Polo three, and Friedrichshafen and Saarbrücken two each, according to the frequencies the airline has announced for these four routes.
For Venice, the connection extends a service already operated during the summer into the winter season, meaning that not every addition is an entirely new destination for the airport.
The programme also increases frequencies on 28 existing routes, including Lisbon, Rome, Kaunas, Pardubice and Poznan, alongside the four connections highlighted in the announcement.
The offering of more than 3.3 million seats remains stable compared with the previous winter, Ryanair says: the changes combine additional options and increased frequencies without announcing growth in the overall seat total.
More capacity to Portugal, Czechia and Lithuania
The airline’s spokesperson in Spain, Alejandra Ruiz, puts the increase in capacity to Portugal at 58%, while citing rises of 30% for Czechia and 31% for Lithuania.
Operations will rely mainly on the 15 aircraft Ryanair bases at Alicante-Elche, a fleet which the company describes as representing an investment of 1.5 billion US dollars.
The airline expects to reach 9.1 million annual passengers at Alicante during 2026, an increase of 11%, and links its activity to supporting more than 7,200 local jobs.
Those company figures and forecasts are separate from the seats offered for winter, which cover the period from late October until the end of March next year.
Ruiz presents the programme as an expansion of travel options for Costa Blanca residents and visitors, with Italian and German connections among the season’s principal additions.
