The selection has been announced

The ninth Torrerífico festival has selected fourteen short-film finalists from 173 submissions. The University of Alicante’s Torrevieja centre, youth association La Comarca and the youth department announced the selection during the week of 12–18 October, according to the council statement of 16 October.

Where and when

The event is announced for Saturday 24 October from 16:30 at the Centro Cultural Virgen del Carmen. The programme includes screenings, an audience vote and the awards presentation. The session is for over-16s, and the council announces free admission.

The festival prizes

The jury will award a €1,000 first prize and a further €500 prize. There is also a €200 audience award. This report announces the finalists and the event, not the result of a competition that has yet to take place. Check the organiser’s channel for possible programme changes before attending.
