Pilar de la Horadada’s float parade, family magic in San Javier and library activities in Lo Pagán are among the events on Saturday, 24 October, and Sunday, 25 October.

The programme brings together cultural, sporting and shopping events in these towns and San Pedro del Pinatar, with activities running from Saturday morning through to Sunday evening.

Saturday: magic, fashion and floats

San Javier’s Municipal Library will host a family magic show with Guillermo Avilés at noon on Saturday to mark Library Day, with free entry until capacity is reached.

In San Pedro del Pinatar, the fashion event ‘San Pedro está de Moda’ starts at 5.30pm at the Barón de Benifayó Museum, with catwalk presentations of the latest styles.

At 6pm, a gymnastics display featuring trampoline, double mini-trampoline and mini-trampoline will take place at the Príncipe de Asturias pavilion in San Javier’s municipal sports centre.

Lo Pagán’s library offers ‘A Night in the Library’ at 7pm for children aged seven to ten, with places limited to 18 participants.

In Pilar de la Horadada, the grand float and fancy-dress parade will follow Calle Mayor from 8pm as part of the town’s patron saint festivities.

After the parade, Plaza de la Iglesia will host a party with DJs Andrés Asecas, David Ortega, Jesús Ortega and Samu Rubio, scheduled to run until 2am.

San Javier also hosts its Tenorio event at the cemetery: the gates open at 8.30pm and the walk before the theatre performance is free.

Sunday: nature, shopping and theatre

The ‘Camina con nosotros’ walk towards San Pedro’s salt flats leaves at 9am on Sunday from the car park at Pilar’s municipal sports centre, where it will also finish.

The announced route covers 8.6 kilometres, has a moderate difficulty rating and takes two hours; the activity is free and registration is required.

The Murcia regional cross-country relay championship starts at 9.30am at San Pedro del Pinatar’s permanent cross-country course.

From 10am to 1pm, Pilar’s Plaza de la Iglesia hosts Local Commerce Day, with a council stand and gifts to thank shoppers and reward their purchases.

Sunday’s theatre programme reaches San Pedro del Pinatar’s Teatro Geli Albaladejo at 7pm with ‘Don Juan Tenorio’, directed by Elvira Pineda.
