Pinatar Arena and its partner venues welcomed 49 football teams from 18 countries between June and September 2026, during a season of training camps and matches that attracted more than 22,000 spectators.

The figures published on 24 October cover activity at Pinatar Arena, La Torre Golf and La Finca Golf: together, the three venues hosted 49 training camps and staged 54 matches over those four months.

The totals relate to all three facilities, rather than solely to the complex in San Pedro del Pinatar, and reflect both the teams’ training stays and their programme of fixtures.

International clubs and 13 national teams

River Plate’s arrival opened a summer that also brought the women’s teams of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur to the facilities for their summer preparations.

The visiting clubs also included Al Ain FC from the United Arab Emirates and Saudi sides Al Diriyah and Al Kholood, as part of a programme featuring teams from different countries and leagues.

English clubs Luton Town and Stockport County also used the facilities for their preparations, as did Elche, Toulouse and Albacete, among the teams named in the summer season’s round-up.

Alongside the clubs, the programme featured 13 national teams, another component of the international football activity held between June and September at the participating venues.

Many of the matches were televised, allowing the fixtures to reach an audience beyond the spectators who attended in person at the sports facilities during the summer.

More than 13,500 overnight stays in the Costa Cálida

The round-up puts the number of overnight stays generated by the sporting activity in the Costa Cálida at more than 13,500, with players, coaching staff and club delegations staying in the area.

Supporters travelling to attend matches added to that movement, bringing business to hotels, restaurants, shops and other services in the surrounding area during their visits.

Following this period of training camps and competition, Pinatar Arena is preparing its next programme of sporting events and team stays, with further international football activity expected in the area.
