Families in Altea with children in early-years education have until 31 October 2026 to apply for two council grants towards nursery attendance and the cost of school materials.

The council’s Education Department has allocated a combined budget of €12,000: €7,000 for the nursery attendance scheme and €5,000 for shared classroom materials and workbooks.

Nurseries: €50 a month, subject to family income

The first-cycle early-years grant is for families registered as residents of Altea with children under three who have attended private centres located in the municipality and authorised by the Generalitat Valenciana.

The amount is €50 per month for each child, subject to family income, and applies to the full months of attendance specified in the call for applications.

Early-years materials at state schools

The second scheme covers contributions towards shared classroom materials and the purchase of workbooks for children enrolled in early-years education at Altea’s state schools during the 2026–2027 academic year.

Under this scheme, support can cover between 50% and 100% of the costs, depending on household income and the criteria set out in the grant rules.

The two schemes therefore serve different purposes: one supports attendance at authorised private first-cycle centres, while the other helps with materials for children in early-years classes in the local state school system.

How to submit an application

Applications can be submitted through Altea Town Hall’s electronic office or in person, by prior appointment, at the Citizen Advice Office, known as the OAC.

Further information is available from the municipal Education Department on the ground floor of the town hall, or by telephone on 96 584 13 00.

Education councillor Mari Sastre has described the grants as a way of helping families with the costs of their children’s first stages of education and has encouraged those meeting the requirements to apply before the deadline.
