EcoAltea will close its 16th edition on Sunday 25 October with a central programme at Altea’s Centro Juvenil, running from 10:00 to 21:30 and bringing together more than 25 activities on sustainability, food and wellbeing.
The event will conclude a programme that began on 1 October under the slogan ‘EcoAltea pel poble’, taking ecology-related activities to different locations around the municipality, including schools and other educational centres.
For Sunday’s event, activities will be spread across seven spaces within the youth centre and will run simultaneously; around ten will be suitable for all ages, with options for children and families.
Seeds, ceramics and three round-table discussions
The morning will begin with seed exchanges and seed-extraction workshops led by Llavors d’ací, alongside a programme including ceramics, tastings of probiotic foods, facial yoga and laughter therapy.
Marina Vega will moderate three round-table discussions focusing on the local territory, healthy homes and organic food, with contributions from specialists, producers and representatives of organisations working on environmental issues.
These discussions will sit alongside workshops and activities relating to wellbeing and nature, as part of a day combining practical sessions, talks, cinema and music in the same programme.
Paella from 14:00 and afternoon workshops
From 14:00, there will be vegetable paella prepared by All i Menta and drinks provided by Mamífera; visitors will also be allowed to bring their own food to the event.
In the afternoon, the programme will continue with workshops on mosaics, bird identification, building nest boxes and edible plants, as well as screenings, discussions and artistic activities for those attending.
The musical finale will be ‘Canciones a fuego lento’, a concert by Juanmi Silvestre and Víctor Hugo Cortez scheduled to bring this central EcoAltea day to a close.
Ana Such and Marina Vega are coordinating the event, organised by the EcoAltea association with support from Altea Town Council, following a month of activities on ecology, food and wellbeing around the municipality.
