Rojales opens in-person sales for its new Bono Consumo shopping voucher campaign on 26 October, with a period reserved for residents over 55 running until 13 November.
The initiative follows an agreement between the council and the Rojales association of traders and small and medium-sized businesses, ACR, which are working together to encourage shopping at local businesses.
Where to buy and what conditions apply
The in-person sales point will be at the Pollito Inglés indoor play centre, at 5 Plaza de Santa Cecilia, with opening hours of 10:00–13:00 and 16:00–19:00.
Customers will need to book an appointment and pay by bank card, two requirements to bear in mind before visiting this sales point to buy their vouchers.
This channel is intended for Rojales residents over 55, making it easier for people who may struggle with online procedures to access the vouchers and helping to reduce the digital divide.
Following that first phase, online sales will open on 16 November and remain available until the vouchers sell out.
Consumers will be able to buy vouchers of €10 and €20, up to a maximum of €50 per person, and redeem them at businesses taking part in the campaign.
Support for local shops and services
The campaign has a grant of €262,350 from Alicante Provincial Council and a municipal contribution of €35,000 to help with its delivery.
Mayor Antonio Pérez, councillor for commerce Miriam Trives and ACR president Roberto Fernández took part in the signing of the agreement.
The association brings together around a hundred shops, and member businesses that sign up for the campaign will be able to participate in this initiative to promote local trade.
The campaign covers businesses selling products, service providers and places to eat, with the aim of benefiting both consumers and businesses while also attracting shoppers from other municipalities in the Vega Baja.
Bono Consumo forms part of the joint work by the council’s commerce department and ACR to raise the profile of local businesses, a collaboration that also includes the Christmas market.
