ASOKA Orihuela plans charity dog walks with Spanish and English sessions on 1 November

ASOKA Orihuela will hold another charity walking event with dogs from its shelter on Sunday 1 November, offering sessions in Spanish and English and asking participants for a donation of five euros.

The activity will take place at Orihuela’s Animal Protection Centre on Camino Lo Arques, s/n, in the village of San Bartolomé, and participants need to register by email.

Three sessions to meet the shelter dogs

The first session starts at 10:00 and includes a short talk in Spanish about the animal charity’s work, followed by a walk with one of the dogs in its care.

At 10:45, the same format will be offered in English, with an introduction to ASOKA’s work before participants head out for a walk with the dogs.

The third session, scheduled for 11:30, will consist solely of a dog walk, without the talk included in the two earlier sessions.

Anyone interested should email [email protected] to register for the event and take part by making the donation announced by the association.

The initiative aims to help local people understand the situation of abandoned animals and discover the shelter’s everyday work, while giving the dogs a break from their usual routine.

Meeting other people and walking in the surrounding area form part of this socialisation experience, which also allows potential adopters to get to know the animals directly and become familiar with the centre.

Supporting the charity’s 2027 calendar

Alongside the walks, the shelter is seeking sponsors for its 2027 calendar, inviting businesses, shops and professionals to support the publication by booking advertising space.

The contributions requested are €35 for a quarter-page advertisement and €60 for half a page.
