Julen Hernández wins the MIR Racing Aspar Cup and a scholarship for his move to GP110

San Javier motorcycle racer Julen Hernández has won the MIR Racing Aspar Cup and secured a scholarship giving him a 60% reduction in costs for the 2027 season, according to the municipal sports service.

The result follows his Spanish championship title in the 2026 Minivelocity Cup and adds another achievement to the young San Javier rider’s racing record.

Saturday pole followed by two Sunday wins

Hernández set the fastest time in Saturday’s timed practice session, securing pole position ahead of the races that were held on Sunday.

He went on to win both races contested that day, completing his participation in the junior motorcycle racing championship with those two victories.

The MIR Racing Aspar Cup is run by four-time champion Jorge Martínez Aspar and was created to identify international talent among young motorcycle riders.

The scholarship Hernández has earned will support his next season, when he is due to move up to the GP110 category and continue his development on motorcycles with 110cc engines.

The earlier Spanish championship title

His Aspar Cup title comes after the one he secured at the final round of the Spanish Minivelocity Cup organised by the Royal Spanish Motorcycle Federation, held in Málaga on 26 and 27 September.

The municipal report published after that event described the rider, who was eight at the time and racing for Dayam 77 Racing Team, as the overall standings leader on his arrival at the Andalusian circuit.

Hernández completed the two races that brought the championship to a close there and confirmed his national title in the minimoto category.

The season figures released by San Javier’s municipal sports service for that campaign show that he finished in first place in ten of the twelve races, took five pole positions out of a possible six and set nine fastest laps across the twelve races.
