Orihuela painter Amalia Navarro will take part in the international exhibition «Algo más que realismo…XX» with her work «Homenaje a Goya», in Zaragoza from 6 November to 5 December.
The exhibition hall of the Agrupación Artística Aragonesa will host the group show, in which the artist will present a large-format painting executed in oil on canvas.
A group show with artists from several countries
The exhibition will feature eighteen Spanish painters and eleven international artists, with Antonio López and Eduardo Naranjo among the participating artists from Spain.
The international contingent includes artists from Italy, Japan, Argentina, Poland and the United States; among them is the American painter Don Eddy, a representative of photorealism.
Navarro’s participation places her work in this gathering of artists from different backgrounds, with «Homenaje a Goya» selected as her contribution to the Zaragoza exhibition.
Navarro has received numerous awards over the course of her artistic career.
Her earlier exhibition in Taiwan
The forthcoming event follows her participation in the international group exhibition «La armonía de la visión», which opened on 1 July at the Hsinchu Art Museum in Taiwan.
That exhibition, organised by Galería Arte Libre, brought together artists from different countries around contemporary figurative art, with a diversity of artistic sensibilities forming part of the project’s approach.
Local authorities attended the opening, including the mayor of Hsinchu, who gave an official welcome to the participating artists.
The cultural programme linked to that event included a round-table discussion at Hsinchu University on 2 July, devoted to methods of creating contemporary realist painting and to teaching practice.
The itinerary announced in July
The presentation of that project in July also envisaged a subsequent stage in Hong Kong, scheduled for 3 to 19 September at the Illuminati Art Gallery as the final stop on the announced Asian itinerary.
That itinerary was planned around the group exhibition «La armonía de la visión», whereas Navarro’s forthcoming participation in Zaragoza is in «Algo más que realismo…XX», with «Homenaje a Goya» as her contribution and the Agrupación Artística Aragonesa as the venue.
