Orihuela drew 0-0 with Yeclano Deportivo at La Constitución in Segunda Federación, playing for more than half an hour with an extra man after Álex Salto was sent off.

The numerical advantage did not produce an away victory, and the home side remained in contention to win the match until stoppage time.

Few clear chances in the first half

The opening stages brought few clear opportunities and frequent interruptions, with both teams focused on protecting their own goal.

Orihuela adopted a more direct approach and used Javi Solsona as one of their attacking reference points.

Both sides appealed for a penalty in their respective attacking penalty areas, but the referee did not award a penalty for either incident.

The teams went into the interval without a goal after a first half in which neither side managed to break the deadlock.

A dismissal changed the situation

After the restart, Yeclano created a clear opportunity when Mario Marín sent a close-range effort over the crossbar following a delivery from Álex Salto.

Shortly afterwards, Salto was dismissed for a mistimed challenge, leaving the hosts with ten players for more than half an hour.

Orihuela had opportunities to exploit the spaces and also hit the woodwork, although Yeclano preserved the draw despite being a player short.

In the closing stages, Javi Gordo advanced down the flank and picked out Marcos Montero, whose shot was blocked.

In stoppage time, Carlos Arauz progressed down the right and found Dani Herrera, who hit the post as the visiting goalkeeper came off his line.

Javi Rodríguez suffered an injury in added time, leaving Yeclano effectively playing with nine men during the final moments.

Familiar faces at La Constitución

The match brought Dani Satoca, Javi Solsona and Diego Ruiz back to a ground they knew from their time with Yeclano, now as members of the Orihuela side.

The hosts reach eleven points after nine rounds of matches and have now gone five consecutive games without a victory.
