Orihuela has launched a €23,000 grant scheme to encourage participation in school sport and fund physical activity and health projects linked to schools in the municipality.

Applications for Line 3 of the 2026 programme will be assessed competitively, with a submission period of ten working days counted from the day after publication of the official notice.

The call is listed in Spain’s National Subsidies Database under reference number 938448.

The notice appeared in the Official Gazette of the Province of Alicante on 30 October, so interested organisations should prepare the documentation needed for this electronic application process.

Two funding streams

The scheme assigns €20,000 to block A, which supports participation in the School Sport Programme and its official competition and classification calendar.

This funding covers both team sports and events for individual sporting disciplines.

Block B has €3,000 for schools to organise and develop sport, physical activity and health projects, with a maximum grant of €500 per activity.

Eligible applicants include primary, secondary and special education schools in Orihuela, alongside non-profit organisations with legal personality whose educational project or stated purposes include sporting activity.

The scope of the call also includes parents’ associations linked to schools.

Separate documents and an electronic signature

Application forms are available through the municipal electronic office and the grants section of the municipal Sports website.

Applications must be submitted electronically using the organisation’s certificate, and the forms must be signed by the person holding its legal representation.

Supporting documents and annexes must each be sent separately as PDF files rather than as compressed archives.

Exceptionally, submission by another person may be accepted if it is justified and accompanied by documentation demonstrating that person’s authority to act.

Once the award decision has been notified, successful applicants will have a further ten working days to account for 100% of the subsidised project through the corresponding supporting financial report.
