The third APAEX Torrevieja and Addictions conference will take place on Saturday 14 November, from 09:00 to 14:00, at the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Centre, with Irene Villa and Belén de la Hoz taking part.
This edition will focus on the relationship between women, emotions and addictions, under the theme ‘Women, emotions and addictions: a reality that concerns us all’.
The event will explore prevention and recovery through specialist talks and personal experiences, also considering families and the people around those affected.
Two perspectives on overcoming difficulties and recovery
Irene Villa, a journalist, author and public speaker, will discuss resilience and emotional strength when facing difficulties.
Belén de la Hoz, an addiction therapist and author, will share her experience of addiction and recovery, a process she also addresses in her book ‘Adicta: Crónica de una batalla interna’.
The programme will include a session of personal testimonies and contributions from specialists, with prevention and awareness as further themes.
An event organised by the local association
A.P.A.EX. Torrevieja is organising the conference with support from the Generalitat Valenciana, Alicante Provincial Council and Torrevieja Council, through its NGO and Volunteering and Citizen Participation departments.
The 14 November event is intended as a forum for information and awareness about addictions and support during recovery.
