Benidorm’s municipal cemeteries are open continuously from 08:00 to 20:00 from this Thursday, 29 October, until Sunday 1 November for All Saints’ Day.

The arrangements include additional buses to Sant Jaume, access changes and a council recommendation to avoid travelling by private car to the Mare de Déu del Sofratge cemetery.

The additional bus services continue until Monday 2 November, beyond All Saints’ Day.

Access and parking

Construction of the underground car park at Jaime I affects access to Mare de Déu del Sofratge: the cemetery can only be reached from Avenida de Nicaragua.

At Sant Jaume, the access road from the CV-70 through the industrial estate has reopened to traffic, and an additional plot has been made available alongside the existing public car park.

Buses to Sant Jaume

On Friday, a bus will leave Avenida Jaime I, beside the Bonanza hotel, at 09:15, with another departure from the Avenida del Mediterráneo stop nearest Plaza de la Hispanidad at 09:30; the return journey will leave at noon.

On Saturday 31 October and Monday 2 November, departures from Jaime I will be at 10:30, 11:30, 16:30 and 17:30, with departures from Mediterráneo ten minutes later.

On those two days, return buses from Sant Jaume will depart at 11:00, 12:00, 17:00 and 18:00.

On Sunday 1 November, buses will leave Jaime I every hour from 09:30 to 17:30 and Mediterráneo from 09:40 to 17:40; return services from the cemetery will leave on the hour between 10:00 and 18:00.

Improvements and religious services

Sant Jaume has increased its capacity with 176 new burial niches, with investment of nearly €185,000, alongside improvements including a new access ramp and renewed paving.

Sunday’s Masses will take place at 12:30 at Sant Jaume and at 17:00 at Mare de Déu del Sofratge; on Monday 2 November, both cemeteries will hold a Mass at 17:00.
