Torrevieja Casino will host a free-entry discussion about recovery from alcohol addiction on Monday 9 November at 19:00.
The event is the ninth edition of Conversaciones sobre Salud and is entitled «Mucho más que dejar de beber: Recuperar la vida» — much more than stopping drinking: reclaiming life.
Organised by the council’s health prevention and promotion department, led by Rosa Cañón, it will address prevention, support and recovering quality of life.
Professionals and personal experiences
Participants include Ramón Antonio Gómez Marín, a pharmacist at Hospital Quirónsalud Torrevieja, alongside Adriana León Pérez and Abilia Clares Nicolás from APAEX Torrevieja.
Finamaría Molero, Tamara Camacho Barroso and Cristina Richart Bernal from UPCA Torrevieja will also take part.
María de Gea López will contribute an APAEX personal account, bringing lived experience into the discussion.
The session looks beyond stopping drinking to explore rebuilding personal relationships, returning to everyday activities and the importance of support throughout recovery.
Open to families and the wider public
The event is intended for anyone interested in understanding the issue, as well as relatives, people close to those affected and the general public.
The series combines accessible health information, dialogue and shared experiences to bring health and wellbeing topics closer to residents.
