Moteras ALC is preparing a charity collection of new, non-violent toys for children spending Christmas in Torrevieja Hospital, with a handover planned for 20 December 2026.
The initiative is promoted by Celia, the founder of the motorcycling group who is known on social media as Motomamii_, with support from shops, other businesses, schools and individual donors.
What to donate and how to take part
Toys must be new and non-violent, in line with the requirements set out for their delivery to the hospital; the campaign aims to collect gifts suitable for young children.
The collection has participating locations in Torrevieja and nearby towns, including shops, businesses linked to the motoring world and schools that are supporting the initiative.
Anyone wishing to find collection points, learn more about the campaign or offer to collaborate can contact the organiser through the Instagram account @motomamii_.
Participation is open both to individuals wishing to donate toys and to businesses and other establishments interested in joining the initiative or helping to spread the word.
The campaign’s aim is for children who are in hospital during the festive period to receive a gift that brings them a moment of happiness during their stay.
Handover coordinated with the hospital
The 20 December handover is planned in accordance with the coordination arrangements and conditions established by Torrevieja Hospital, so that the presents can reach children staying there over the Christmas holidays.
If more toys are collected than are needed for that handover, the organisers intend to give some of the remaining gifts to the hospital classroom at the centre.
They also envisage surplus presents reaching other children who need them through collaboration with Torrevieja’s municipal department, an NGO and other participating organisations.
That additional destination depends on there being a surplus: the collection’s first purpose is to provide Christmas gifts for the children admitted to the hospital.
Celia and Moteras ALC are encouraging people to expand the support network by donating new toys and sharing the campaign among neighbours, local businesses and schools.
