Pilar de la Horadada will hold its Halloween programme on Friday 6 November, the new date listed in the municipal tourism calendar for Toma Castaña and Un Pilar de Miedo.

The programme will begin at 17:30, with free activities spread across Calle Mayor, Plaza de la Iglesia, Plaza Campoamor and the Centro de Información Juvenil youth information centre.

The new date replaces the previously announced 30 October programme: families planning to attend the parade, children’s party or horror trail should take account of the change of day.

Parade and children’s party in the town centre

Toma Castaña will start at 17:30 with a spooky parade featuring the Municipal Dance School and giant skeletons, following Calle Mayor to Plaza de la Iglesia.

At 18:00, the children’s party will offer a 360-degree photo booth, face painting and a mask-making workshop, alongside the distribution of chestnuts, sweet potatoes and traditional roasted snacks known as torraos.

Plaza de la Iglesia will also host the children’s tribute show “Halloween Pumpín” at 19:00.

The horror-themed activity challenge and other costume and make-up activities will take place in a different setting: Plaza Campoamor, opposite the town hall, between 19:00 and 20:30.

Horror trail open until midnight

Un Pilar de Miedo will run from 18:00 to midnight at the Centro de Información Juvenil, at 21 Calle Ramón y Cajal.

The event includes a horror trail, monster-themed workshops and alcohol-free cocktails, with the drinks available while stocks last.

The announced workshops include a laboratory, express make-up and the cursed box, as part of the leisure programme accompanying the spooky trail.

The trail is intended for participants aged twelve and over; younger children must be accompanied by an adult.

The activity is free and does not require advance registration, according to the council information for Un Pilar de Miedo.
