Torrevieja schools have until 27 October to enter the second school drawing competition for Christmas lighting designs. The call covers the 2026/2027 festive season and is run by the public lighting department.
There is one category for pupils with special educational needs and another for pupils in the first two years of Spanish primary education. State schools and publicly funded independent schools providing primary or equivalent education may enter. Each school must select internally and submit one individual drawing per category.
Designs must be original and previously unpublished, in colour on A4 paper, and link Christmas with Torrevieja. The rules exclude raised elements, stickers, glitter and metallic inks, among other materials that make drawings difficult to digitise and turn into illuminated motifs.
Applications must be submitted through the council’s online portal, with a high-resolution copy and the required documents. Schools must hold permission from pupils’ legal representatives and retain the original for collection within the deadline.
The jury will assess creativity, links with the city and feasibility for LED manufacture. Six prizes in school supplies, craft materials or books are available: two for the special educational needs category and four for primary pupils. Winning designs will form the basis of elements in the municipal lighting display.
