The group links its backing for the 2027 budget to housing, jobs and services proposals; improvements to the Nito football ground depend on surplus funds.

Sueña Torrevieja has outlined the eight amendments it says it secured in the municipal budget for 2027, which it supported at the council meeting on Monday 2 November.

Its spokesperson, Pablo Samper, links that support to measures on rent, employment, animal welfare, gluten-free food, sport and mobility, arguing for an opposition role that combines scrutiny with practical agreements.

Rent and support for households

The proposals include the ‘Torrevieja Alquila Seguro’ programme, aimed at improving access to rental housing used as a main home, according to the list released by the local political group.

The animal welfare measure provides €30,000 in veterinary assistance for households facing financial difficulties, while support for people with coeliac disease envisages €25,000 to offset the additional cost of gluten-free food.

The list includes a further €30,000 to encourage the hiring of unemployed residents of the municipality, as part of the local employment measures the group presents within the agreement.

Vehicles, dog areas and the Nito ground

On local taxation, Sueña Torrevieja points to vehicle tax reductions of up to 75% for vehicles carrying CERO and ECO environmental labels.

It also lists €50,000 in planned investment to create and improve dog areas, alongside support for new public electric vehicle charging points without a dedicated spending allocation.

For the Joaquín García ‘Nito’ football ground, it proposes improvements worth up to €50,000, a measure the group itself makes conditional on the availability of surplus funds.

Backing the budget while monitoring commitments

Samper notes that the Partido Popular holds an absolute majority and does not need his group’s vote to pass the budget, presenting its backing as an independent decision.

Sueña Torrevieja contrasts its vote against the 2025 budget with its support in 2026 after securing proposals on school materials, sport and accessibility.

The group says it will continue pressing for implementation of the eight amendments and earlier commitments, including the redevelopment of the Vicente García municipal stadium, which it lists as outstanding.

These measures form part of the 2027 budget initially approved by the council; approval of the accounts does not mean that applications for each form of assistance are already open.
