Torrevieja’s Coro Maestro Casanovas will perform in Elche on Saturday 24 October in the third and final concert of the choral meetings cycle it has shared during 2026 with other groups from the province.

The performance will take place at the parish of Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados in Elche, as part of the Encuentros Corales sponsored by the Federació de Cors de la Comunitat Valenciana, FECOCOVA.

The Torrevieja choir will be joined by Elche’s Coral Illice Augusta and the youth section of the Orfeón Crevillentino from Crevillente, both of which have also taken part in the cycle.

Grup Polifònic Ars Nova from Xàbia will join this final gathering, bringing the line-up to four vocal ensembles.

A shared conclusion for the participating choirs

The concert will complete a series of three events designed as a space for artistic exchange and cooperation between choirs from different municipalities.

For Maestro Casanovas, travelling to Elche means another performance outside Torrevieja and the conclusion of this joint initiative during the season.

Recent performances away from Torrevieja

The choir also performed in Castellón on 10 October, presenting a programme combining habaneras, contemporary polyphony and musical theatre under the direction of Antonio Zamora Meseguer.

That concert featured El abanico by J. Trayter, Habanera salada by Torrevieja composer Ricardo Lafuente and Rosita de un verde palmar, a song from the Cuban folk tradition.

The Castellón repertoire also included Stars, Same Train by Jim Papoulis and Seasons of Love by Jonathan Larson, from the musical Rent.

Those works belong to the Castellón performance and are not the announced programme for the 24 October gathering in Elche.

The choir’s recent activity reflects two strands of its schedule: its own performances outside the town and cooperation with other ensembles in the cycle now drawing to a close.

The Elche event will bring together the groups from Torrevieja, Elche, Crevillente and Xàbia around that shared choral project.
