Guardamar orders Gespark and Ingepark to adjust excessive car park service charges

Guardamar del Segura council has ordered Parking Gespark and Parking Ingepark to adjust amounts overcharged to users of their car parks, following approval of their financial accounts for the years 2014 to 2025.

The two decisions, adopted by the full council on 2 October, are published on Thursday, 22 October, in Alicante’s official provincial gazette.

The review excludes the 2017 financial year, which had already been approved, and concerns shared costs passed on each month for each parking space.

Adjustments following a court ruling

The accounts incorporate adjustments in the municipal financial control department’s report of 17 September 2026 to bring them into line with judgment 493/2021 of Administrative Court Number 1 in Elche.

Both decisions establish definitive monthly charges, including VAT, and compare them with the amounts that the concession operators had charged users in each financial year.

The full council instructs each company to make the corresponding adjustment for amounts overcharged and report it to the municipal financial control department so that it can be checked.

The differences at Gespark

For Gespark, the 2025 monthly charge per space is set at €14.63, compared with the €31.30 charged by the operator, a difference of €16.67 a month.

For the 2014 financial year, the decision records a definitive charge of €15.24 a month per space and a difference of €23.28 against the amount charged.

The figures for Ingepark

At Ingepark, the definitive 2025 charge is €42.41 a month per space, compared with the €51.67 charged, representing a difference of €9.26 a month.

The 2014 accounts set the definitive monthly charge at €26.94 and show a difference of €14.36 per space against the charge that had been applied.

The published amounts are monthly figures per space, including VAT: they relate to the review of shared costs for each financial year, rather than an identical overall refund for every user.
