Los Montesinos has announced a new Christmas shopping voucher campaign, offering a €50 voucher per citizen, with applications and downloads available from 2 to 10 November 2026.
The discounts can be used throughout December at businesses in the municipality that sign up to take part in the scheme.
The council plans to distribute investment of €123,750 among participating businesses through an initiative designed to encourage local shopping during the Christmas trading period.
Who can apply and how the vouchers work
Applications are open to people over the age of 16 who are registered as residents in Los Montesinos, provided they meet the requirements set out in the campaign rules.
The campaign poster specifies that each citizen’s €50 voucher is divided into five uses worth €10 each.
It also states that the purchase must be worth at least as much as the discount being applied, a condition shoppers need to bear in mind when redeeming vouchers at participating businesses.
The rules can be consulted on the municipal voucher platform, which provides information about the scheme for residents interested in taking part.
Three separate deadlines for shops and residents
Registration for businesses will open on 26 October and remain available until 18 December, giving shopkeepers a different timetable from the one applying to consumers.
For residents, applications and downloads are concentrated between 2 and 10 November; the vouchers themselves are to be redeemed during December.
The initiative aims to help families save money while supporting economic activity in the municipality, linking the discount to purchases at participating shops in Los Montesinos.
Ana Belén Juárez, the councillor for Economic Development, has championed shopping close to home as a way of sustaining economic activity and supporting local traders.
The announcement gives businesses time to prepare their registration before applications open to residents, while allowing local people to plan around the dates of the Christmas campaign.
