Orihuela has unveiled its tourism programme for November 2026, bringing together visits to historic buildings, walks through natural areas and an activity installing nest boxes at La Pedrera reservoir.

All activities have limited places and require advance booking through the reservations section of the Orihuela tourism website; bookings for the tours will open weekly.

Exploring the city and its heritage

The tour ‘Orihuela, a city to discover’ is scheduled for Saturdays 7, 14, 21 and 28 at 11:00, departing from Plaza del Carmen, as well as Sunday 1 at the same time.

Tourism councillor Gonzalo Montoya highlighted how the tour has become a regular Saturday fixture in response to demand and its positive reception.

On Thursday 5, ‘The palm grove and its spa’ will take place at 16:30, starting at the Palm Grove Interpretation Centre.

The programme includes a visit to the Teatro Circo on 12 November at 17:00, followed by a tasting costing €6.

On 13 November, a tasting of Baroque convent sweets, mistela and aniseed spirit will start from Plaza de la Catedral at 17:00, with a tasting price of €4.

The same square is the departure point for ‘Three royal painters: Stories behind the paintings’ on Friday 20 at 16:30, with tickets costing €3.

A visit to the Miguel Hernández House Museum takes place on Saturday 21 at 16:30; the Colegio de Santo Domingo visit follows on Friday 27 at 16:30, with €1 admission.

Nature, astronomy and conservation

On Sunday 15, the Las Colinas scenic trail will be explored, departing at 10:00 from the Las Colinas de Campoamor clubhouse.

On 22 November at 10:30, the programme offers a MUDIC visit and astronomy workshop, with €5 admission and a meeting point at the entrance to the Desamparados campus.

On Saturday 28 at 16:30, Sierra Escalona hosts an activity about the eagle owl and Mediterranean woodland wildlife, starting from Hito de Rebate.

Sunday 29 focuses on La Pedrera: a wetland tour at 09:30 and nest-box installation at 15:30, with both departures listed from Plaza de Torremendo.

The afternoon activity will give participants an opportunity to learn from a specialist how these shelters can encourage birds and support biodiversity.
