Sports clubs and high-performance athletes in San Javier can apply until 5 November for the municipality’s 2026 sports grants. The scheme has a total budget of €180,000, an increase of €10,000 compared with the previous year.

Sports councillor Sergio Martínez announced the application period on 16 October, giving 17 October as the opening date. Funding will be distributed among applicants who meet the conditions laid down in the rules. The headline budget therefore relates to the scheme as a whole, rather than an individual payment to each club or athlete.

Who can apply

Eligible clubs must be registered in the Region of Murcia’s Register of Sports Organisations and have their registered address within the municipality of San Javier. Registration and a local registered address are among the conditions explicitly set out in the council’s announcement.

The scheme is also open to high-performance athletes applying as individuals who meet the required conditions. It is not presented as a general grant for everyone who takes part in sport: prospective applicants need to consult the full rules to establish the conditions relevant to their application.

Application documents and deadline

The council says the complete details of the scheme, application forms and annexes are available through the San Javier Sports portal. This is the channel identified for obtaining the necessary documentation before preparing an application.

The announced closing date is 5 November. The opening announcement does not set out a fixed amount for each successful applicant or break down the allocation between clubs and individual athletes in its text. Those details should not be confused with the overall €180,000 funding envelope.

Martínez linked the increased budget to support for children and young people training in different sports, as well as helping high-performance athletes continue competing at regional and international level. He encouraged local clubs and athletes to apply within the stated period.

The immediate practical step for interested organisations and individual competitors is to check the scheme’s rules, forms and annexes through the municipal sports service before the application window closes.
