Local businesses in San Pedro del Pinatar showcased their fashion, accessories, hairdressing and make-up on Saturday 24 October at the third edition of ‘San Pedro está de moda’.
The catwalk event, promoted by the municipal Commerce Department, took place in the surroundings of the Barón de Benifayó Museum. It brought together businesses from the town with collections and services aimed at different audiences.
Occasion wear, children’s collections and styling
Modas Mati, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, presented fashion and accessories alongside occasion wear and bridal designs. It was supported by Nuria Lacleta, Óptica Mediterráneo and Miguel Florista.
Dulces Latidos and Cool Kids brought collections of children’s clothing and specialist products for younger customers to the event. The children taking part in the fashion show received applause from the audience.
Ámate y Sonríe presented its women’s fashion and eclectic styles. Hairdressing and make-up were represented by Vintage Estilistas, whose creations covered a variety of occasions and different types of celebration.
Its work included looks for weddings and first communions, alongside artistic proposals inspired by carnival and Halloween. Professionals, models and specialist businesses also collaborated in the staging of the fashion show.
An event dedicated to neighbourhood businesses
The event was attended by San Pedro del Pinatar’s mayor, Pedro Javier Sánchez Aznar, and the councillor for Commerce, María Dolores Nieto. Visitación Martínez, president of the Regional Assembly of Murcia, was also present.
The day concluded with a prize draw featuring gifts donated by the participating shops. That contribution complemented the collections and services that the businesses had brought to the catwalk during the event.
The council places the initiative within its work to promote neighbourhood shopping and raise awareness of local businesses. The third edition combined the presentation of clothing and accessories with a showcase for hairdressing, make-up and other professional services available in the municipality.
