Families in San Pedro del Pinatar with children in the first cycle of early-years education, covering ages 0 to 3, have until 23 October to apply for a municipal grant of €200 per pupil. The application window opened on 12 October as part of the education support scheme for the 2026–2027 academic year, announced in September.

This strand has a budget of €36,200 for 181 grants. Its purpose is to support schooling in the earliest years. The €200 figure is the amount of each grant, while €36,200 is the total allocation for this particular strand of the scheme.

How to submit an application

The council identifies two application routes: its electronic office and in-person submission at the town hall’s General Registry. The full rules and the documentation required for each type of award are available through the municipal noticeboard and Spain’s National Subsidies Database.

Applicants should therefore check the paperwork specific to the first cycle of early-years education before submitting their form. The different strands within the overall scheme do not necessarily have the same eligibility conditions or application dates.

Academic excellence awards open on 26 October

The next scheduled application window is for academic excellence awards, running from 26 October to 6 November. This strand provides for ten awards of €600 for university students, ten of €300 for students in higher-level vocational training and a further ten of €300 for Bachillerato students.

The complete education support scheme has an overall budget of €85,700. It also includes school materials and travel grants whose application periods have already ended. The second cycle of early-years education closed on 25 September, while the materials strands for Bachillerato and vocational training, together with travel support, closed on 9 October.

The immediate deadline for families this week is therefore Friday 23 October, when applications for the first-cycle early-years grants close. Academic excellence awards have a separate, later application window and are not yet open for submissions on Monday 19 October. The current deadline is part of an existing scheme, rather than a newly announced allocation of the full education budget.
