The Cuevas del Rodeo in Rojales will host a new Rodearte gathering this Sunday, 1 November, from 10:00, with literature taking centre stage: the ninth Rodearte de Libros will bring together more than 60 writers.
Participating authors will come from the Vega Baja and different parts of Alicante and Murcia provinces for an event organised by the Culture department, led by councillor Inmaculada Chazarra.
The gathering will give visitors an opportunity to discover new publications and exchange views with their authors, within the programme of this monthly event combining art and tradition at the caves.
Free workshops starting at 11:30
The morning will include access to the cave workshops open to visitors and a walk around the traditional craft stalls, alongside participatory activities designed to encourage creativity as a family.
The workshops will begin at 11:30 and will be free: Cave 1 will host mask-making, Cave 10 will offer esparto craftwork and Cave 11 will provide painting and mould-making.
The map issued for the event places these three activities within the Cuevas del Rodeo site and advertises them for all ages as part of the workshops taking place in the caves.
Midday jazz at the Replaceta del Teatro
At 12:00, Sunny Side of the Street Jazz Quartet will begin its concert, providing live music for the gathering at the Replaceta del Teatro in the Cuevas del Rodeo.
The programme therefore combines a meeting between writers and readers, traditional crafts and creative activities with a musical performance, all within a single morning at this Rojales venue.
Chazarra has invited residents and visitors to take part, highlighting the combination of the craftspeople’s talent, literature by authors from the area and live music.
The councillor presents Sunday’s gathering as a meeting point for creators and readers from the Vega Baja, with the ninth Rodearte de Libros occupying a special place in this edition’s programme.
